WHITEWATER PARK AGREEMENT 9-19-12 LMS
A phase one development agreement between the city and the Whitewater Park Association was passed by the Salmon City Council at its September 19 meeting on a vote of four to one.
The agreement outlines the responsibilities of each entity as the association moves forward towards determining the feasibility of building a Kayak course in the Salmon River. The proposed park would be adjacent to the city owned Island Park property which is why a mutual agreement is needed to proceed.
The first phase involves development of engineering plans and acquisition of all the required permits that would be needed before a Kayak course could be constructed. The agreement states the city will not be contributing any funding to the project.
Councilmen voting in favor of accepting the agreement were: Jim Bockelman, Ken Hill, Fred Waidely and Jim Baker. Councilman Jim Kluesner cast the one ‘no’ vote.
