PARKS & RECREATION TEAM MEETING 9-19-12 LMS

Salmon City Councilman Jim Kluesner, chairman of the city’s Parks and Recreation Team, told the City Council September 19th that a new boiler for the swimming pool is something that should be considered.

Kluesner said the team reported the boiler operates well as long as it has proper maintenance. Superior Boilers from Rexburg has been cleaning it yearly at a cost of around $400 per trip. He said the boiler is at least ten years old and a newer model would be more efficient therefore if the money is there it is felt a new one would improve the pool’s longevity.

Kluesner said parks and cemetery personnel are in place for the coming year and that the council will be needing to hire a new swimming pool manager. The job will be posted and does require training which dictates a decision in time for the training to take place before the next swim season.

The next Parks and Recreation Team meeting is set for October 10 at 11AM in the Salmon Valley Center meeting room.
