|RIVER ICE STILL GROWING|
ICE JAM REPORT 1-21-13
Latest observations of the Deadwater ice jam indicate the ice has reached a point between the Carmen Bridge and Lemhi Hole which puts it about a mile and a half from the ice jam nearest town.
There are no significant ice jams between Salmon and Elk Bend other than a couple of areas where the riverís surface has frozen over.
A couple of potential problems were observed along the Lemhi River. Ice has piled up against the bridge near the Tendoy Store on Highway 28. There is some minor flooding along a traffic pullout in that area.
With more sub zero temperatures expected tonight (Monday night) residents along both rivers are urged to stay alert for possible overflows.
