PUBLIC WORKS TEAM REPORT 5-15-13 LMS
At its May 15 meeting, Salmon City Councilman Fred Waidely brought the Salmon City Council up to date on Public Works Department business including changes since the Public Works Team’s last meeting.
He said Steve Adams of the Youth Employment Program (YEP) met with the team May 8th to report a drainage problem at the YEP building on Lena Street. Adams said the lack of drainage results in an excessive ice build-up. Waidely said there is some question as to the source of the water draining into the area and that the Public Works Team will investigate the problem, then discuss results and possible solutions with Adams at its June 12 team meeting.
Waidely said the Waste Water Treatment Plant project is progressing with no major problems. He said forms are being put in place for the construction of the effluent filter building and the bypass trench and line are in the process of being built. Waidely said the city’s sewer lines are also part of the overall Waste Water system upgrade and that they are being improved by the city’s Public Works Department. ‘Jet’ cleaning of some lines is scheduled to begin in June.
The Public Works Team will be asking Public Works Supervisor Harry Shanafelt to give a report about ongoing Department activities at each team meeting. Waidely said it is felt the monthly reports will be of benefit to the team as well as the City Council.
