SACAJAWEA CENTER UPDATE 10-16-13 LMS

Octoberís Sacajawea Center Team meeting consisted of a monthly financial report and a general end of the year overview. Team Chairman, Councilman Fred Waidely, told the Salmon City Council at its October 16 meeting that although there were no specific year-end figures when the team met, City Finance Director Amy Fealko said everything looks to be in good order. She plans to present the complete financial report at the Sacajawea Teamís November meeting.

Waidely said that retiring Center Director Judy Barkley announced the new director, Lynn Gray, will begin work at the center in mid-October and will be formally introduced to the City Council at one of its meetings.

Barkley also gave a report on the 2013 volunteer hours. She said the total number of hours contributed came to 2,300. Volunteers assist with the Interpretive Center, various programs, the Heritage Garden and special events throughout the season.

Waidely said all the planned repairs and improvements at the center are either complete or will be completed by the end of this month.

The next meeting of the Sacajawea Team will be November 13 in the Learning Center at 11:30AM.
