|ICE PACK HEADS UP RIVER|
ICE JAM REPORT 12-4-13
The recent subzero weather has allowed the seasonal ice jam north of town to begin growing at a rate of around three miles a day.
The report as of Saturday afternoon is that the jam of ice on the Salmon River which forms downriver at Dead Water has backed up river for about ten miles and has reached the Fourth of July Creek area.
There is no sign of flooding in North Fork and there is no evidence of a jam beginning on the north side of Salmon where one formed last year.
The weather forecast is predicting more cold on Saturday and Sunday nights followed by a slight ‘warming’ trend.
