PARKS & RECREATION TEAM REPORT 6-18-14 LMS
A proposed Veteranís Memorial was a topic at the latest meeting of the cityís Parks and Recreation Team.
Team Chairman and City Councilman Rob Jackson reported to the June 18 meeting of the Salmon City Council that those in attendance at the teamís meeting included City Parks Foreman Gordon Stevenson, Sherry Elrod, Sue Waidely and County Commissioner Bob Cope.
After discussing the requested Veteranís Memorial Cope was asked to submit a proposal as to what kind of memorial would be appropriate and ideas about possible locations.
Jackson said the future of the Rose Garden at City Park was discussed. He said the Garden Club has done some pruning and weeding in preparation for Summer but has said the club no longer has the ability to do all the labor. Club members have offered to act in an advisory capacity for the three young women who have volunteered to maintain the Rose Garden.
The next meeting of the Parks and Recreation Team is set for July 9th at 3:30 PM in the Salmon Valley Center meeting room. All the city team meetings are open to the public.
