|ACCIDENT CLAIMS TWO LIVES|
WEEKEND FATALITIES 7-7-2014
According to a report from the Lemhi County Sheriff’s Department shortly before 8:30 PM Saturday night, July 5, 2014, the Idaho State Police investigated a crash on State Highway 28 which killed two occupants and injured two others. The one vehicle accident occurred near milepost 120, approximately 15 miles south of Salmon.
According to the report the driver of the Toyota Tundra pickup lost control while negotiating a curve. The truck went off the west side of the road and overturned. All four occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
Gary Monson, age 40 of Parker, was transported by ground ambulance to Steele Memorial in Salmon. Lisa Monson, age 39, was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Rosalva Campos, age 52 of Firth, died at the scene of the crash as a result of her injuries. Antonio Campos, age 51 of Iona, was transported by air ambulance to St. Patrick\'s Hospital in Missoula, Montana where he succumbed to his injuries. None of the occupants was wearing a seatbelt.
Next of kin have been notified.
The crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police with assistance from the Lemhi County Sheriff\'s Department, Salmon EMS, and Salmon Search and Rescue.
