SCHOOLS RECEIVE FUNDING 10-27-14 LMS

Four local schools will be receiving funding from the State Department of Education for new school lunch equipment. The awards were announced Monday by Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Luna.

The Salmon Senior High and Pioneer Elementary schools in the Salmon School District 291 were awarded $14,765.10 to purchase a new walk-in freezer.

The Leadore School in the South Lemhi School District will receive $6,998.72 for a new 36 inch range.

The Challis Junior/Senior High School will be getting $5,624.64 for a combination Oven-Steamer.

The money is coming from federal grants that will help 18 Idaho schools purchase new kitchen equipment. The total amount received by Idaho from the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program was $176,149. The program is being administered by the US Department of Agriculture.
