LOCAL ELECTION WINNERS 11-5-14 LMS
Rick Snyder retained his Second District seat on the Lemhi County Board of County Commissioners by drawing 1,935 votes in the November 4 election. His nearest contender was Independent Alan Howell with 566 votes followed by Democrat Louise Wagonknecht with 405 votes.
Mike Ernest will be the county’s new Coroner. Ernest received 1,629 votes. His closest contender with 770 votes was John Bennett. Chris Slavin, campaigning as a write-in candidate received 460 votes.
Write in candidate for State House seat 8B, Mike Barrett, won 520 votes in the Lemhi County tally compared to Republican Merrill Beyeler’s 1,938.
Clerk of the Court Terri Morton and County Treasurer Mary Ann Heiser were both up for re-election and were both unopposed.
The majority of local voters agreed with statewide voters in their choices of CL “Butch” Otter as Governor and Brad Little as Lt Governor. The race for District II US House Representative went to incumbent Mike Simpson and Raul Labrador was re-elected to serve as US House Representative from District I. US Senator Jim Risch was also re-elected.
