P & Z APPOINTMENT 12-3-14 LMS

Richard C. Pape has been appointed to the City Planning and Zoning Commission. The nomination was made by Mayor Leo Marshall at the December 3 meeting of the Salmon City Council and was unanimously approved by the council.

In other business before the council a request to discontinue sewer and water services at 703 Lena Street was submitted by Russ Chinske. Public Works Superintendent Harry Shanafelt had approved the request after verifying the house and water meter at that address have been removed and the sewer has been capped. Councilman Chinske abstained from voting due to a conflict of interest and the rest of the council approved the disconnect.

During Roundtable discussion Councilman Jim Bockelman brought up some unfinished business from last year, namely a leaking rain gutter at the Salmon Business and Innovation Center. Whether it is addressed by the Mayorís office or one of the council teams Bockelman said the gutter needs to be fixed. City Clerk Mary Benton said when the issue arose last year it was determined that according to the building lease it is the centerís responsibility to make the repair. Mayor Marshall said he will personally take the matter to Lemhi County Economic Development Director Alan Howell at the Innovation Center.

December 10 is meeting day for all the council teams. The Finance Team will meet at 11AM, the Public Works Team at 2PM, the Parks and Recreation Team at 3:30PM, the Sacajawea Center Team at 4:15PM and the Public Safety Team at 5:15PM. All meetings are open to the public and all are held in the Salmon Valley Center meeting room.
