SEISMIC ACTIVITY CONTINUES 1-4-15 LMS
There have been five more measurable earthquakes, according to the US Geological Service, since yesterday’s 4.9 event located 4.3 miles east of Challis,
The 4.9 quake occurred 5.09 miles beneath the surface at 10:44 yesterday morning, January 3. At 7:23 that afternoon there was a 2.6 earthquake 3.7 miles east south east of Challis at a depth of just over three miles. The day ended with another bang at 11:35PM as a 3.6 quake took place 1.8 miles east south east of Challis at a shallow depth of 1.3 miles.
One minute less than an hour later, at 12:34AM January 4 began with a 4.0 quake 1.8 miles east south east of Challis, 6.2 feet deep. Another quake at the same depth occurred at 3:47AM 3.7 miles east north east of Challis and registered 3.3. A wake up performance came at 6:21AM 3.7 miles southeast of Challis at a depth of 6.2 feet and a magnitude of 3.7
As other parts of the world slept, or not, there was a 4.3 earthquake in Castaic, California which is just north of Los Angles and a 4.8 quake north of El Espinal, Mexico. Miyako, Japan experienced a 4.8 quake, there was a 5.1 in Naze, Japan and another 5.1 magnitude quake near Port-Vila, Vanuatu south of the Solomon Islands.
