|TRANSPORTATION SERVICE FLOURISHING|
LEMHI RIDE 4-15-15 LMS
Numbers show the new, local Lemhi Ride Transportation service is a success.
Lemhi County Economic Development Association (LCEDA) Chairman Allen Howell and Lemhi Ride Operations Manager Candice Forshay updated the Salmon City Council on the fledgling business statistics during the council’s April 15 meeting.
Howell thanked the City Council and the County Commissioners for enabling the ‘roll-out” of Lemhi Ride. He also expressed appreciation to the local members of the Transportation Board as well as LCEDA Executive Director Tammy Stringham for all the help in getting the business up and running.
Forshay said that since its official beginning on April 1 ridership has gone from 244 per month to 331 in the first 10 days of operation. She said they have picked up all former TRPTA (Targhee Regional Public Transportation Authority) riders plus many more. She said they are operating two buses and acquired a third bus on April 10. Lemhi Ride also has a 15 passenger van.
Operating hours are from 8AM to 5PM and riders over the age of 60 will ride free for the duration of a Department of Aging grant. Forshay said they do appreciate advance reservations. The number to call is 756-1875.
Forshay was happy to report that things are literally moving.
