FINANCE TEAM 10-21-15 LMS

The city’s Finance Team met on October 14 and heard City Finance Director Amy Fealko explain the preliminary end of fiscal year close out numbers and combined cash on hand.

Team Chairman Jim Bockelman told the October 21 meeting of the full City Council that the Finance Team also discussed the Water fund and whether, with the change in the sewer and water fee structure, there would be enough in the water fund balance to pay for possible future improvement needs.

Bockelman said according to Fealko there is still some tax revenue due the city which is normal for this time of year. It was suggested that her report be made to the full council.

Bockelman told the team he would like the public to have information on the possibilities, or lack thereof, of water and sewer fee reductions as well as information on holding accounts to be used in the event of future replacements or plant facility improvements.

Community Development Project Coordinator Mary Cerise outlined reasons why the city should develop a Strategic Plan. The team requested she present the idea to the October 21 council meeting.

During the Finance Team Roundtable discussion the lack of a city cellular phone policy was mentioned as well as the status of delinquent Local Option Tax payments.

The next meeting of the Finance Team will be November 12 at 11 AM in the Conference Room behind the City Hall front office.
