VACATION REQUEST DENIED 12-17-15 LMS
During his report on the December 9 Public Works Team meeting City Councilman Fred Waidely said a request had been received from Dale Gooby to vacate an undeveloped portion of North Vasil Street so that he could add it to his property. The request and maps of the area were reviewed by the team and sent to the full City Council for consideration.
At the December 17 City Council meeting it was decided that vacating the road would not be in the best interest of the city since if the city decided in the future to develop that road it would have to buy it. The councilís decision to deny the request was unanimous.
Waidely said the Public Works Team also discussed a request from Lemhi Ride to construct a bus barn on city property. Public Works Supervisor Harry Shanafelt was consulted and in his opinion the site requested may not be the best location for Lemhi Ride or for the city. Waidely is a member of the Lemhi Ride Board of Directors and will pass on the information to that board.
He said the specific area requested is currently being used but there are other possibilities. He will suggest that Lemhi Ride propose a preliminary plan suitable for their needs and present it to the city for further consideration.
The next meeting of the Public Works Team will be January 13 at 2 PM in the City Hall Conference Room.
