ELECTION RESULTS 5-18-16 LMS

In the May 17 Primary Election Brett Barsalou was the winner of a three way Republican contest for Third District County Commissioner with a total of 873 votes. Contender Ray Henderson gathered 392 votes and F.H. Rowdy Davis drew 254 votes. Barsalou will be running against Democrat Bob Blackadar in the November election for the two year commissioner’s term.

Second District Commissioner Rick Snyder was unopposed on the Republican primary ballot in his bid for a four year term. He will face Democratic contender Louise Wagenknecht in November.

In the race for State Representative Legislative District 8 Position B, Lemhi County cast 810 votes for Dorothy Moon to the 759 votes for incumbent Merrill Beyeler. According to the total Legislative District 8 vote for Position B, Moon took the republican primary with 4318 votes compared to Beyeler’s 3051.

Voters in the state cast 46,970 for Republican incumbent Second District US Representative Mike Simpson compared to his challenger Lisa Marie’s 17,397 votes.

On the nonpartisan ballot Robyn Brody won the four way race to succeed Supreme Court Justice Jim Jones.
