TRAFFIC DELAYS BEGIN 10-31-16 LMS
The minor traffic delays, which have been predicted because of construction activity around the Shoup Bridge, are due to begin this week.
According to a press release from Todd Butikofer, Project Manager for the Federal Highway Administration, construction has begun on the Southwest diversion road subgrade, detour road, and preparations are being made for installation of an 18 inch cross road pipe culvert which will function as both the detour road and new main road. The work is expected to continue throughout the week of October 31, on into the weekend and part of next week.
Construction of the Southeast portion of the diversion road may also be taking place after crews construct a short retaining wall to protect designated tees.
During work hours there may be a wait of up to 20 minutes before crossing the bridge and the one lane traffic will be controlled by flaggers. There are no actual road closures scheduled this week.
