U.S. CAPITOL CHRISTMAS TREE TO VISIT SALMON NOVEMBER 12TH
For more than 50 years, a Christmas tree has graced the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for the holiday season. The Payette National Forest in partnership with nonprofit Choose Outdoors will bring this special gift from Idaho to Washington, D.C. for the 2016 season. The tour involves more than 25 communities along the way, including an appearance in Salmon on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm at 204 Main Street.
The tree is being cut today, November 2nd, near McCall and prepared for the 2,000-mile expedition.
Festivities being held while the tree is in Salmon:
Smokey Bear will be onsite with his friends from the Salmon-Challis National Forest & the Bureau of Land Management—Salmon Field Office
