ELECTION RESULTS 11-8-16 LMS
Lemhi County registered voters made their choices known on Election Day, November 8, with a voting rate of over 87 percent.
County Commissioners Rick Snyder will remain as District 2 Commissioner by a vote of 3,103 to opponent Louise Wagenknechtís 794.
In the District 3 commissionerís race Brett Barsalou won with 2,819 votes to challenger Bob Blackadarís 803 votes and write-in candidate Ray Hendersonís vote count of 374.
Acting Lemhi County Sheriff Steve Penner topped everyone elseís vote count by gathering 3,714. He was unopposed for the office of Sherriff.
County Attorney Bruce Withers was also unopposed and received 3,195 votes. The vote on whether or not to retain Judge Steven Clark was 3,089 in favor and 624 against.
Republican Mike Simpson will be representing the 2nd US Congressional District for the 10th time and Republican US Senator Mike Crapo will return to office for his fourth senate term.
Donald Trump won the local vote in the presidential election with 3,011 votes, or 74.02 percent, compared to 733 votes cast for Hillary Clinton which amounted to 18.02 percent. Statewide only two counties went to Clinton and those were Blaine County and Latah County. Overall percentages for Idahoís four electoral votes gave Trump 59.98 percent and Clinton 27.66 percent.
Idaho voters passed an amendment to the State Constitution by 55 percent. The House Joint Resolution 5 (HJR-5) gives state legislators a right to reject agency rules.
